The only two items you'll ever need are WD-40 and duct tape.
I received that "sage" advice in one of those dumb chain email things that get passed around. But after reflecting on it for a while, I realized there was actually some wisdom hidden there.

Take the duct tape for example. If Cheney had been wrapped up in it, his hunting pal may have had half a chance to escape.

And the WD-40? Short of a nuclear blast, what else would you use to dislodge King George from the White House?

Once you view these two items in that light, their possible uses are endless.

2. There's more to that logic ...
If it moves and it is not supposed to ... Use Duct tape
If it doesn't move and it is supposed to ... Use WD-40

Cheers
Drifter

8. WD-40 is a miracle product
It lubricates, protects, displaces water in electrical devices, removes most inks and cleans plastic without destroying it.

And no, I'm not being paid to say this.

14. If you've ever had a kid leave a crayon in his pocket...
and then washed and dried his clothes, use WD40 to take the melted crayon off of the drum in your dryer. Also great for taking crayon off of painted walls.

Yes, my kids like crayons, at least they don't eat them anymore.

21. I've heard it called "100-mile-an-hour" tape
Because you can tape almost anything to your vehicle with duct tape and it won't come loose even at 100 miles an hour.

27. Some uses endure MUCH higher speeds
I recall a story about the Cobra Gunship helicopters
from about 10-15 years ago...

The newfangled "high-tech composite" rotor blades on the Cobras
were supposed to last for 2000 hours of flight time.

Military mechanics quickly learned that the rotors
only lasted about 500 hours before they began to come apart.

They doubled the lifespan to around 1000 hours by wrapping
brand new, $40,000 replacement rotors with duct tape before installing them.

13. we used duct tape to cover our dog's stitches on her leg...
she kept trying to chew the stitches out but when we covered the site with duct tape, she left the duct tape alone. We changed it daily to let the area breathe. It is all better now.

15. I keep my farm running
with Duct Tape and WD 40. Seriously, when in a hurry and without the needed repair items they are invaluable for just about anything. I go out and get what is needed and then wait to see when I need to repair my temporary fix. It is amazing how long these things work.

WD 40 works very well for taking burrs out of manes and tails, on dogs too.

The volume controls were blocking the signal. Guitar store guy said get some contact cleaner from Radio Shack. Twelve bucks! No way. A little schpritz of WD-40 and it sounds like new! (For guitar freaks: it's a mint old Gretsch Super Chet.:) )

The coolest thing is, WD-40 removes that sticky duct tape residue, making it one big circle of life.
