NORM: Abdul again has Homeland Security/airplane issues
Paula Abdul, a judge on "American Idol," won't get high marks from her fellow airline passengers, and she might be hearing from Homeland Security officials.

According to an Abdul spokesman, the former pop singer and dancer was running late Thursday, trying to make her Southwest flight at McCarran International Airport, when a group of fans mobbed her.

A Southwest representative at the scene whisked her through a back access, bypassing security, and onto the Los Angeles-bound plane.

However, upon arrival in Burbank, it was announced that security had been breached, and no one could leave the plane until the re-screening process was completed.

1. And her last name is "Abdul"? I guess it's just "profiling"...
Even celebrities get the blues...

2. Hmmm
I think Paula may have been drinking a little too much while on that plane. I watch American Idol with my kids, and she was acting very bizarre on last nights show which is live. She was either drunk or on something. She was barely coherent.

3. It's hard to judge. Once knew an employee accused of being drunk
on the job and it was some sort of health condition. Company got sued and lost.

5. Possible
but her eyes had the look of someone who was either drunk or high.

4. she does have that joint condition

or is it skin, I don't recall exactly. Sometimes it's incredibly painful.

I'll bet she was on some massive painkillers.

6. Your right
I forgot about that. She does have some kind of condition that she takes pain killers for. She took one too many last night

7. not clear how this is abdul's fault
Edited on Fri Mar-03-06 10:57 AM by pitohui
you have to comply w. crew member instructions, as they say, if a southwest representative instructed me to "come this way" whether it bypassed the screening or not i would feel obliged to follow her directions rather than trying to tell her how to do her job

re-screening the pax on landing at burbank sounds like the correct procedure but no reason that abdul should be fined by homeland security, if anyone is at fault, it would be southwest unless something is badly wrong w. the write-up of this story
