They remain nameless on the national conscience

Every day we hear about a "soldier" killed. The other day it was a "diplomat."

No name, no city, no age, no family, not even gender.

Except for the hometown newspapers, we never know about who these people were.

And when human beings lose their individual identities, it is so easy to just shrug and move to the next story.

Thank you, again, Dan Rather, for starting and Bob Schieffer for keeping, the individual stories of the men and women behind the "soldier" label, every day on CBS News. This, alone, has earned you my loyalty.

1. I'm perpetually fascinated with 'contractor', myself ...

... and why none of the media will really define what a 'contractor' is, or who they work for, or what their mission is.

They're not contractors over there building houses and planting trees ... they're MILITARY folks .. mercenaries, militia, financial rape and pillagers. And most of them are paid by Halliburton, KBR, Carlyle, etc.

Yet the media continues to use a friendly term for them, so the folks watching the news don't get a grasp on what our tax dollars are really paying for.

2. That is why America is not responding like they should...

to the tragedies.....the deaths of our soldiers...they have been dehumanized to 1 death here 1 death there.

In order for there to be a reaction....we need to start seeing the pictures of the caskets....we need to see the entire impact of this illegal war.

The deaths are spread all over the country and because of that the toll is not seen in it's entirety, the deaths are seen as individual tradgedies in individual communities...This is what has to change...

And I agree Dan Rather and Bob Schieffer are a few of the true journalist left....
