Bush: "the United States is looking forward to eating Indian mangos"
Edited on Fri Mar-03-06 12:37 PM by npincus

I took a photo- not so great, if anyone can do a good screenshot please post.

Lou Dobbs had a segment "Nukes for Mangos" last nite- how B*sh is giving away US noo-cu-lar technology in a trade agreement w/India-- and we get mangos! Yippee! I love sweet, juicy mangos...

Can-o-Fun has the video at: http://www.canofun.com/cof/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=17408

going overseas?

4. They sure are. I pick them right off the tree in
my front yard. I believe they are grown in South Florida, Texas?, and Southern California, too. The fresher they are, the better they taste - just like all other fruits and veggies.

Most of the ones they sell in the grocery store are from Mexico. I really doubt Americans are waiting with bated breath for mangoes from India.

Much neater to eat. No juice to run all over.

9. Mangoes are the food of the gods, in my estimation
Have to be eaten fresh, though, not tinned. Tinned mangoes taste nothing like fresh. I love them.

40. Mangos are American fruits -- for now, anyway
Many people here have mango trees in their yards. In urban Honolulu the trees often have branches overhanging sidewalks, so mangos are right out there where kids can pick them (if they don't get caught).

Just last month Del Monte planted its last crop of pineapple on O'ahu. It got squeezed out by -- you guessed it -- foreign competition. While the neighborhood kids will still be picking mangos off the street for years to come, our commercial growers are now certain to follow in Del Monte's footsteps. Thanks a lot, Bush**! :sarcasm:

11. Ooo, I love mangos
Especially with chile powder on the top! That's how people eat them in Latin America, & I picked up a taste for it.

15. I LOVE them. Next to Pomegranate it's my favorite fruit
Edited on Fri Mar-03-06 01:04 PM by indie_voter
My grandfather would always stock up on both when we came to visit (when I was a child) family in Bangalore India.

Now, when ever I eat either, I remember those times with fondness.

However,we don't need to export Mangos from India, we can get them closer to home.

20. I like 'em a lot
Cut little slices and scrape the meat out of the rind with your teeth. They're delicious. And you get drenched when you do it. A good time is had by all.

18. So, let me get this straight....
bush has traded nuclear technology for mangos from India even though mangos are grown in the US. Hmmm, importing Indian mangos to bring down domestic mango growers is a good reason to trade nuclear technology........Ooooookay.

As much as I like mangoes, and have heard that India produces a lot of varieties that Mexico doesn't have, all I can say is, "is there any connection between mouth and brain here?".
