2. They helped Tom Delay find the missing Texas Democrats
His gerrymandering scheme might have fallen apart if he hadn't commandeered those planes and found those spineless Democrats hiding out.

3. DHS has succeeded in becoming every Extreme Right Winger's nightmare.
The Government crawling up any citizen's ass, just to make sure everything is in order and checks out.

Oh, they do not feel the movement yet, but when the pendulum swings, they'll be screaming rape, bloody murder, and plotting attacks on the Government.

4. IMO, screwed up response to Katrina.
Sounds like FEMA was left on hold, waiting for "permission" from DHS before it could act.

Also it has nearly gotten several civilian pilots shot down in the skies over Wash. DC, even though those pilots did absolutely everything required and recommended according to the new regulations.

It's burnt a lot of money.

It's added a layer of bureaucracy that has hampered and slowed every action by every agency it oversees.

15. The Neo Fascists didn't want it and set it up to fail.
"Top Bush aides were never enthusiastic about the plan, however. To save money, and in keeping with Republican opposition to big government, the White House ordered that the new department's top ranks be extremely lean, people involved in the department's planning said."
