Teen charged with inducing panic in squirt qun incident

ZANESVILLE, Ohio -- A 14-year-old middle school student has been charged with delinquency counts of inducing panic and disorderly conduct for bringing a squirt gun to school this week.
Muskingum County Juvenile Court officials have not set a court date yet for Deondre Crosby, who was suspended for 10 days after school officials and police found a black squirt gun in his locker on Monday. He was charged yesterday.

The boy's mother has said he forgot he had the squirt gun in his coat pocket and put the toy in his locker. She said the incident has been blown out of proportion and that police shouldn't have been called to investigate.

The Zanesville district has a zero tolerance policy for guns in schools and locked down the middle school after another student reported seeing what looked like a gun being put in Crosby's locker, authorities said.

1. oh for pity's sake....

When I was in school we went through several squirt-gun fads-- the crotch shot was greatly feared-- and EVERY boy I knew, myself included, brought a big ass knife to school at one time or another to show off to his friends. I mean COME ON. The district attorney is going to waste public resources prosecuting this kid for being in possession of a toy.

I think the NRA should go after the school district and force them to give all the students marksmanship classes. On a real firing range. That will shut those meddlers up.
