NEW DELHI - At least two people were killed and 20 injured as tens of thousands of Indians held nationwide protests over the ongoing visit of US President George W. Bush on Friday, local media reported.

Two youths were killed and 15 people were injured in police firing on an agitated crowd in the Aminabad locality in Lucknow, the state capital of northern Uttar Pradesh state, reports said.

Scores of Muslim youths pelted the police with stones after Friday prayers, to which the security forces responded by opening fire. snip

The protestors shouted slogans such as “Bush, war criminal” and ”Bush go back” on the third day of the US President’s visit to India.
