Schedule
C-SPAN was founded to provide gavel-to-gavel coverage of the
House (C-SPAN) and Senate (C-SPAN2). When the House and Senate are in session
we cannot provide a schedule until they adjourn. This time is unknown
and can also be late in the evening. Ask your cable provider about C-SPAN3,
a digital service, that carries live events when the House and Senate
are in session.
We only schedule several hours ahead of time.
Each day we decide in the late afternoon what events we will cover
the following day. Until the events are complete, we do not know how
long they are and how they will air in our schedule.
Once the schedule is complete around 9:00 PM weeknights, if the House
Senate have adjourned, the schedule is posted on on our web site,
http://www.c-span.org/ Throughout the day, events are posted as we know them, but this is often
just shortly before they air.
You can receive daily electronic schedule alerts by
signing up for C-SPAN Alert at
http://www.c-span.org/watch/cspanalert.asp?code=Watch Reairs
Most programs air a couple of times in our overnight schedule. We try
to repeat programs for our west coast audience and just before our AM
schedule begins at 7:00 AM. After the following day, there are usually
too many new programs coming in to reair previous programs. When the
House and Senate are out of session, we have a litte more flexibility
to reair older programs. A few weekday programs reair in our weekend schedule.
Online viewing
Many of our programs are available for viewing online. Go to
www.c-span.org to view programs on your computer.
DVDS and Videos
DVDs and Videotapes of most programs can be purchased at
http://www.c-span.org/shop There are a few programs where C-SPAN does not own the rights
to sell the programs. These are usually programs from overseas,
from other television networks, and historical programs that predate
C-SPAN.
Transcripts
C-SPAN does not offer transcripts of its programs except for the
weekly book interview program, Booknotes. These transcripts are
available online at www.booknotes.org.
We recommend that you contact the speaker or the organization
sponsoring the speech to inquire about transcripts. Transcripts
of House and Senate floor speeches are available at
http://thomas.loc.gov/ Contact the committees directly for committee transcripts.
Copyright
C-SPAN asserts copyright over the video that it produces and
requires permission or a license for reuse that is not
home or classroom use. License details are available at

On Thursday, Harper's Magazine held a truly outstanding forum on impeaching
George Bush with Sam Seder, Rep. John Conyers, John Dean, Liz Holtzman,
Lewis Lapham, and Michael Ratner. I am aware that C-span was there filming
but I don't see it on your schedule to air it. Please air this program. I am
anxious to watch it.
Many thanks from a loyal viewer,
