7. I would think that's what would happen at least 60% of the time
Anywhere in the world at least 2 out of three pitchers would bean him and say "oops, sorry".
Some would throw it harder than others.

I'd like a chance at it, reminds me of a carnival attraction involving a vat of water.

9. From the pictures, Bush got off pretty lightly
There's a reason politicians are asked to throw out the first ball and not take the first swing at a baseball game. Can you imagine Sal "The Barber" Maglie (one of the all-time great nicknames) on the hill looking down at Little Lord Pissypants? They'd have to take the poor fucker to Johns Hopkins to surgically remove the spheroid from his ear.

19. well, this is after the elbow injury.
by baseball standards, that's pretty good, especially since he has a curveball without coaching.

plus, iirc, the cricket ball is smaller and firmer, and i believe it's also a different movement - so different set of standards for speed.

sorry, i've got to defend my sweetthing's baseball honor ;)

13. It's a LEGAL throw by the bowler in cricket - it's a common tactic.
It's one of the ways to get a batsman dismissed (batter out) in cricket and all bowlers will throw at the batsman when it's to their advantage. That's why batsmen wear helmets with chin straps and other padding.

It's LEGAL!

How does one get hit by a cricket pitch, anyway? Did he fall again?

(note: In cricket, the "pitch" is the part of the playing field in the centre with the wickets at either end. Thrown balls are "bowled". The subject line is a little odd-sounding.)
