1. Do you mean the former NE Congressman? Here's a bit:
Congressman Peter Hoagland
Chairman of the Board

Former Nebraska Congressman Peter Hoagland joined Advocacy Inc. as Chairman of the Board in early 2006. During his three terms in the House of Representatives, Congressman Hoagland made a name for himself as a strong Democratic force, serving with integrity on the House Banking and Ways and Means Committees and emerging as a leader in developing innovative fundraising and voter contact techniques. Since completing his Congressional service in 1995, Hoagland has worked on issues across the board, including many Higher Education issues and is currently a Partner at Capitol Partners, Inc. Prior to his congressional service, Hoagland served for eight years as a Nebraska state legislator, a lawyer in his native Omaha, a national board member for Common Cause, and as a D.C. public defender. Congressman Hoagland attended Stanford University and received a J.D. from Yale Law School.

2. Yes! On C-Span Book TV From '92, The Author Cwilick
depicted him in a rather bad light.

I was just wondering how bad he had been, but here it seems that he looks much better. Cwilick seemed to look upon him as sort of a back-stabber willing to play both sides of the aisle.

I knew he must have been there recently because I can almost see his face.

Anyway, thanks a lot. I think the name of the book was House Rules, and he was talking about Hoagland and the workings of the House at that time. Referred to it as running more like a jalopy rather than a well oiled machine, and that the founding fathers seemed to have set it up that way!

Saying that it seemed nothing EVER got done! I dunno!
