In video, Ayman al-Zawahri says West glorifies homosexuality
Al-Qaida’s No. 2 leader Ayman al-Zawahri criticized the West for its insult to Islam’s prophet, complaining in a video broadcast Sunday on Al-Jazeera that the Prophet Mohammed and Jesus “are not sacred anymore.”

Referring to the cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad that have been printed in a number of European newspapers, al-Zawahri said: “They did it on purpose and they continue to do it without apologizing, even though no one dares to harm Jews or to challenge Jewish claims about the Holocaust nor even to insult homosexuals.”

Al-Zawahri, wearing a black turban and seated in front of a curtained window, spoke insistently and waved his right hand to emphasize his words.

In the video broadcast on the satellite network, Al-Zawahri also offered his support to Hamas, the militant Islamic group that is forming a new Palestinian government after sweeping legislative elections.

6. Just Further Proof, Sir
That it is the convinced fundamentalist, of whatever stripe, that constitutes the common enemy of all humankind.

It should also stand as a useful reminder to any tempted to regard these creatures as anti-colonialists or in some other justified opposition the West that they are, in fact, ultra-reactionary rightist bigots, hostile to any and everything left and progressive people partuicularly hold dear. We provoke a greater degree of hate from these people than just about any other element of the West....

7. al-Zawahri versus the big "they"
Referring to the cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad that have been printed in a number of European newspapers, al-Zawahri said: "They did it on purpose and they continue to do it without apologizing, even though no one dares to ... insult homosexuals."

What if someone dares to say that Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto is "worthless and unplayable". Would that count as insulting a homosexual?

8. What? The 'Boogieman' is standing on the Republican platform?
Are things so bad for the Republicans, that Karl has to pull out their 'Boogieman' to campaign for their 'hatred of homosexuals' cause in an election year to rally fundie votes?

Will he be making campaign appearances with the Republicans?

9. The West doesn't "glorify" homosexuality
But there are folks working for a society where homosexuals are treated just like everyone else -- including Muslims.
