5. A person all should admire. His greatness is in danger.
Do not underestimate the destruction of Carl Sagan's vision. We here at DU have an obligation. I for one accept that responsibility.

I found that it is on the sci channel at 9 pm central, as well. Thanks for the heads up on this one. looks like it will go on for a few weeks, an hour at a time.

The sci channel is running a buckshot schedule of repeats if you miss an episode.

sci channel schedule
Fugue 3/5 12 am
cosmic ocean 3/7 PM
harmony 3/14 PM

10. Carl smoked pot (that's a GOOD thing)....
http://www.druglibrary.org/think/~jnr/sagan.htm

I figured this out on my own after reading the book "Contact". One of his chapters has tons of metaphorical references to THC and a few direct references as well. His wife said that he claimed to have come up with some of his best ideas while under the influence of marijuana.

I've got the entire Cosmos series and just finished Episode #6! And might I add, the soundtrack by Vangelis is fantastic!

11. Thanks for the heads up!!
I love his books, and remember viewing Cosmos as a child. I forgot that he sort of sounded like Kermit the Frog.

His books truly show the wonder of the world and the universe.

14. Yep, evolution is a theory just like gravity.
We are here, and we are sticking to the earth. Those are pretty fact filled theories.
