I had never been on a blog before a few weeks ago. I kept on hearing about them. Hell they even reported on them at CNN from time to time.

A few weeks ago I was watching C-SPAN and some gal on their mentioned DU. I gave it a try and like what I saw. Since I'v been here I have had some interesting conversation and have even gotten pissed off a time or two. It's all been good though and I want to thank everybody hear. It has made my life more interesting.

I guess it's time to donate huh.

It is always good to have a new person here. Things are a little different though and here is some advice:

The Lounge: best avoided by decent and godfearing folk, but you can venture into it in Level IV or greater biohazard gear for short spells if carrying a Gideon's Bible. Be especially wary around denizens of that hoary clime. Oh, they seem reasonable enough, to be sure, but then, before you know it, you are sucked into whole endless threads about thongs, hugs, Yaks, Coffee, strange news or New England sports teams. Some go in there and never come out. All it needs is a River Styx to cross, on the way in, if you know what I mean.


Remember that now you have started here to eat more fiber and up your vitamin dosage per day, as well. And do try to get some sleep. There are some here that haven't slept since 2001 and it shows.

33. It is called FREE SPEECH--- just about the best rush one can have.

I found DU in 2004, and it has been a lifeline for me. It is like a town square open forum, where we can agree to disagree, from time to time. A whiff of democracy to take away from the stench that is our so called "free press" and lack of true representation in our government.
I don't know what I would do if I didn't have a place like DU to find out real news, and real views of what is going on in the world.
