Bill Kristol: Republicans will lose the House! (Today's Fox News Sunday)
"A certain number of Republicans and conservatives have lost confidence in the Bush Administration and the Republican Leadership in Congress, and they're going to stay home, as of right now, some of them will stay home in November, and as of right now, Republicans will lose the House."

1. Another terrah attack, allowed or otherwise should then be in the
making if they are to hold true to their form.... duck and cover may be a recurring theme until november.

3. Do not take the bait!
This is not a Cassandra issuing a warning. This is being issued to motivate the base and the party to pull out all stops.

We know now that they are capable of anything. Expect anything.

5. agreed, but it is possible
I was surprised that the sentencing of the Dukester, Randy Cunningham, got so much coverage this week. If we get a few more like that in the coming months (DeLay, the guy from Ohio) & a few more "retirements" among Republicans, we have a shot.

4. It's possible
If we see more & more "retirements" from Republicans... and, there is no terror attack allowed to happen... the forces of light could pick up the necessary 15 seats, or even a few more.

Then, do we start impeachment hearings in February of 2007 with John Conyers presiding over the house judiciary committee?

7. Rejoice
Like the Daily Show once said the day after the completion of the DNC, "Start celebrating now, make this election become more than just an election, make it your life. Grab some chips and invite all of your friends over, so when Florida dribbles through the Democrats legs you can have a circle of support for the bone-crushing, soul-sucking defeat you had placed in the depths of your mind on Day 1."

Be hesitant, friends, confidence this early in the game is the key to complacency.

9. I think a certain level of confidence is in order
When I talk to people who are not politically active I try to convince them that things can change if they vote and pay attention and get other folks to do the same. A lot of people just want to vote for the winning side. You're right that confidence can lead to complacency but so can defeatism. Walking that line is going to be tough but I think we can do it.

And welcome to DU, gekeeley. :hi:

10. Before we put stock by KRISTOL - he's one of the original
Neocon pushers. Now that he has turned against the Iraq attack, it's a matter of, we knew what to think back then, Billy.
