Gas prices in my metro-Atlanta town have risen $.05 in 24 hours WTF
My husband just returned from the convenience store and he said gas prices at both of our neighborhood gas stations has risen $.05 overnight. Anyone else seeing this today? Friday a week ago I paid $2.09 a gallon. Yesterday I paid $2.29, and today prices are $2.34. Not like it is a holiday weekend. Any ideas?

1. Yes, I'm outside the metro Atlanta area
On Thursday morning gas prices were $1.99. When I came home that evening, they were $2.24! Then Friday morning, they dropped again to $2.14, then that evening they were back up to $2.25. They've gone up again to $2.31.

What the hell is going on? This is nothing more than price gouging. Assholes.

6. Exactly! This is what has been happening here
$1.99!@ where was that - RaceTrack on 78? I haven't seen it below $2.00 in forever here. Gas prices changing that much can't be legal. Didn't the GA House pass some law about price gouging during Katrina?

7. If oil prices haven't risen, and yet prices are rising everywhere
something must be up. They know something the rest of us don't.

14. Hi doni! Gas prices are expensive in Athens.
Gas hasn't been a $1.99 here for years it seems. The prices were about $2.09 yesterday. I haven't checked today. Just a few weeks ago, prices were about $2.20.

15. Yes, it went up about 20 cents/gal in my area. Sorry I can't get
worked up about a 5 cent/gallon increase.

Gas has gone up in the U.S. every March for the last few years. Not sure why - anybody know?

21. In the absence of any serious discussion of public transit expansion
or a bold plan to introduce sustainable energy sources, the oil companies can exploit a captive market. And it will continue so long as people only gripe about gas prices, but don't do anything to advance an alternative.

Here in SoCal we see wild escalations overnight with considerable regularity.

23. SoCal is the only place where I have seen....
One gas station 50 cents more than the one across the street. I still remember seeing $1.75 at one station and $2.25 for the same grade right across the street. I don't understand that.

25. Up $0.15 in 24 hours here.
And the price varys about twenty cents from one side of town to the other, as if prices were following the tanker truck.
