After watching Russert on Meet the Press this morning.

He reminds me of a lawyer defending a guilty client. He is a major corporate journalist. General Electric (NBC) is part of the war machine, and war is big business and business is good. The more dead bodies on the news the more viewers. It's a win, win situation for these guys. Their stock goes up the worse the news is. Russert knows which side his potatoes are buttered on. That’s why he grilled Edward and gave everyone else a pass.

1. he always employs that little "gotcha" technique

when he shows something that somebody said a few years ago and tries to get them to look stupid. It's really a meaningless thing too. People change their minds, the times are different etc. I hate it when he does that, no matter which party the person is that he does this to. It's childish. But yes, he definitely is tougher on Dems. He's a total status quo guy. Otherwise he wouldn't have his own show.

2. Who else on the American side

besides GE has such huge benefits from a nuke deal w/India?

Russert: as wrong on a news show as neocons running Public TV! His softball interviews with Bush and Cheney were a disgrace.

3. He spent half an hour with the general.

And you could see where he was checking off the questions he asked him on a piece of paper. He looked like he didn’t even listen to the answers, much less ask any follow up questions. Now when it came to Edwards, he keep at him over and over pounding away again and again on why he now regrets voting for the war.

Now I ask you, which is more important to America, a congressman changes his mind or what the truth is on what’s happening in Iraq?
