Eerily Quiet On The Rightwing "Blogosphere" Front
It is a kind of guilty pleasure I know, but I love to mix it up with the rightwing nuts on some of the more colorful reactionary sites. And there are quite a few like me who enjoy doing that sort of thing. Some of these sites have been literally taken over from their beleaguered hosts by highly energized blog warriors of our very righteous cause. Two of my favorites to shell, Balloon Juice and Scrutator, have pretty much been dominated these last few months by some pretty fine examples of pissed off Democrats.

But as of late I've been noticing that some of them just aren't nearly as active as they used to be. Days go by without any new topic postings, and when they are finally made the regular rightwing nuts hardly participate.

My question: Has the stake finally been driven into the vampire's heart? Is Drac now slowly sinking back into his pinebox woodwork?

Seems almost too good too be true. But as far as I can see the anecdotal evidence is there.

4. What were the parting shots, in general? What was the last straw?

Did you notice anything?

Was it the ports? Is it Libby and Cheney? Iraq? Defeat?

5. The messages are so mixed for them, these days.
The reps used to have a united front; all they had to do was repeat the talking points.

Now they have to figure out whether they want to defend the pres against other republicans, and what in the world can they say about the port deal??? And India getting the nuclear nod? What's a con to do??

7.  Screwtator's (as i like to call it) been quite lively lately.
I'm a frequent visitor. There's something deeply gratifying about beating up on the wingnuts. Here's my latest comment from a wacked out thread about how Saddam absolutely, positively had WMDs.

Iraq is a triumphal success! Zarqawi, the only threat to peace in Iraq, has been captured!
The existence of Saddam’s WMDs has been incontrovertibly proven!
Hurrah! Our Dear Leader is vindicated!!!

“The success in Iraq is a country of 50 million people liberated from a despot and centuries of totalitarianism, of living under the boot of dictators. ”

Not only are James Zogby and John Zogby different people, Iraq doesn’t have a population of 50 million. The population is actually 26,074,906 as of July 2005 according to the CIA Factbook. http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/iz.html

Your statement about Iraqis having lived for centuries under totalitarianism and the boot of dictattors is also incorrect.

I don’t think Leo is a liar, so much as he is delusional and prone to error.

Leo, Leo, Leo. How hard is it to check things like population and history before you post ?
By not doing so, you demonstrate not only how ignorant you are, but how intellectually lazy you are.

Pathetic. Just. Pathetic

8. It's getting so you have to be a contortionist...
to be able to bend far enough over backward to defend the Bush Administration. I've even seen a couple of online Wingnuts turn.

What makes me sad is that they have likely turned because they bought into the simplistic War On Terror where all Arabs/Muslims are out to get us, and the Dubai Port deal doesn't fit into that fantasy. No doubt they still believe all the other wingnut nonsense.

10. Without a doubt, we are winning on every front.
I see it in political forums I frequent as well. Come November, we will have put the darkest days behind us. (God willing accurate vote counts.)
