Why did UAE support "war on terrorism ??

After 9/11, Junior said, "you're either with us or you're against us". Up to that point, UAE was only one of three nations to support the Taliban in Afghanistan. So why did they decide to switch teams?

All the people that are arguing for the UAE control of US ports say that they are now one of our best allies in the "war on terror". They let us dock our warships in their ports. They let our fighter jets use their landing strips. But why?

Is it because they no longer support the Taliban and have seen the light? Is it because they think it is the right and moral thing to do? That is doubtful. Most likely, it is about money and greed. They do not want to lose their financial gains they have made in the last few years. So, for those reasons, should they be trusted? Their main concern is about their wealth - not about whether we are attacked or not. They could care less. They are not our "ally". They are in it for the money.
