8. This freeper is worried about getting dysentery
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To: William Creel
I'd be more concerned about dysentery. You do not want to be on a ship when dysentery breaks out and be knocking on the men's room door, "Will you be coming out soon?" and hear "I don't think so!"...

12. That's not the best time of year to go
It starts getting hot down that way...and seeing as we have had a mild winter, we could be in for a long hot summer. The Alaska cruises are a good way to cool off in the warmer weather, until all the friken ice melts from global warming....

Are they going on the same ship where that rich honeymooning guy fell or got tossed off the balcony??? Maybe they are getting the "bloodstained canopy" discount???

14. This freeper wrote a poem
Freeper John Masefield just freepmailed me a poem he wrote.......
I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking
And a gray mist on the sea's face, and a gray dawn breaking

I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying

I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life
To the gull's way and the whale's way, where the wind's like a whetted knife
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a fellow freeper-rover
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the freeper cruise is over

Bahama Mama

Coming from a person who spends everyday trying to DESTROY THE ENVIRONMENT! That's pretty funny.

I had to memorize it in grammar school, it's written by John Masefield, who died in 1967.

You can read the full poem, without the bastardizations from those eeedjits, at the above link.

Doughty One, your announcement graphic is terrific. I'm ready to sail right now!
Hi, everybody. This is Bahama Mama, your long-time tropical cruiserette and Answer Lady. I'm looking forward to meeting on board lots of first-time voyagers, as well as hugging old-friend seasoned cruisers on this week-long freeper getaway to the sunny Caribbean.

Here's the itinerary:

http://www.princess.com/pb/priceDetails.do?voyageCode=B620&date=0506&noOfPax=2

I'd be willing to give odds that "MinuteGal" is getting her (and another?) cruise for free as an "organizer" and is merely exploiting her fellow assholes ... who're paying about the same as they could get directly from Princess Cruises. They'd get even a better rate from one of the discount cruise brokers.

The (so-called) "group" rates 'MinuteGal' has quoted are ...
Inside stateroom, category 3.....$749
Outside Oceanview, category FF.....from $849
Oceanview with balcony, category BC.....$1049
Mini suite, category AC, with balcony, more sitting area.....$1249
Add $46.21 per person for government tax and port fees.
Prices are per person, based on double occupancy.

The individual rates Princess Cruises quotes are ...
Interior ... $749.00
Oceanview ... $899.00
Balcony ... $1099.00
Mini-Suite ... $1299.00

30. Here's a freeper LOVE POEM!!!! HAHAHA!
Tonight, in bed, I want you to softly sing this song into the ear of Mr. Alwaysconservative........
Here I go, singing low
Let's pack up all our cares and woe
Let's go cruisin'
Where a FReep Ship waits for we
Sugar's sweet and so is she
C'mon, darling

On the ship they'll love and understand we
Oh, what Clinton tales that they will hand we
Let's cuddle up, turn out the light
Dream about the cruise tonight
Let's go, darling (OR ELSE!!!!!)

This should do the trick. Let me know how it turns out.

33. Here's a poem for em
"Ship of Fools"
Words by Robert Hunter; music by Jerry Garcia

Went to see the captain
strangest I could find
Layed my proposition down
Layed it on the line;
I won't slave for beggar's pay
likewise gold and jewels
but I would slave to learn the way
to sink your ship of fools

Ship of fools
on a cruel sea
Ship of fools
sail away from me

It was later than I thought
when I first believed you
now I cannot share your laughter
Ship of Fools

Saw your first ship sink and drown
from rocking of the boat
and all that could not sink or swim
was just left there to float
I won't leave you drifting down
but woah it makes me wild
with thirty years upon my head
to have you call me child

Ship of fools
on a cruel sea
Ship of fools
sail away from me

It was later than I thought
when I first believed you
now I cannot share your laughter
Ship of Fools

The bottles stand as empty
as they were filled before
Time there was and plenty
but from that cup no more
Though I could not caution all I yet may warn a few:
Don't lend your hand to raise no flag
atop no ship of fools

Ship of fools
on a cruel sea
Ship of fools
sail away from me

It was later than I thought
when I first believed you
now I cannot share your laughter
Ship of Fools
No I cannot share your laughter
Ship of Fools

39. Thanks. I haven't heard that in a while . . .
A little bit over the FReeptard's heads, though.

In fact . . . I can't think of anything that would mess with a FReeper's head, more than a Dead show. Maybe we could talk Weir into bringing Ratdog on board.

Then there's Kreutzman. Known for slipping LSD 25 into cocktails . . .

34. they're staying at the comfort inn...
What happened to The Ritz?

A lot of cruisers prefer to fly into Ft. Lauderdale the afternoon or night before the 5:00 PM Saturday sailing day. We'll be staying at the Comfort Inn where we stayed a couple years ago. It's really a great place to stay.
The motel has a courtesy van at the airport which will take you to the Inn.

Arriving the night before gives you an opportunity to relax. It's also insurance against delays or anything else going wrong in your travels the morning of embarkation.

Plus, since other freepers will be popping in from various parts of the country throughout the evening, it'll be great fun to sit at the Tiki Bar or in the lobby and meet the great folks behind those screen names as they arrive.

The next morning, after a luscious (and gratis) hot breakfast buffet, the van will convey all of us (and our luggage) right to the Princess terminal......again, at no charge.

For really carefree booking, Wanda will do your whole package (air, Comfort Inn and cruise fare) for anyone that wants it all rolled into one.

P.S. Don't go to bed too late at the Inn! Saturday will be one big day! Woo Hoo!

Bahama Mama

and make reservation for 150 people and put it on Wanda credit card.

To: All
HERE I AM, you sweet darlings. You missed me! I just missed a nervous breakdown!

I've been here all along, lurking in the torments of panic as my balky computer wouldn't connect me with this new thread. I see you all carried on admirably in my absence.

Thanks, DoughtyOne, for the smooth segue into Thread Two.

Segue-ing right along, I want to announce to any newcomers to this cruise thread as well as those still undecided about our maritime freeper adventure to make that quantum leap and sign on.

There's still almost two months till embarkation, but the ship is filling up rapidly. You must get your oar in pretty quick....like this coming week....or you may be left standing forlornly at the dock while your dream ships sails away without you.

Phone our mermaid travel agent, Wanda, at 1-800-266-1167 (PST) Monday. Tell her you're with the Free Republic group. She'll arrange everything hassle-free for you as she has been doing these past two month for our very satisfied and delighted freeper cruisers. She'll find a nice sunny cabin with picture window overlooking the sea just for you.

to lots of groups that would cause them to jump overboard. Maybe stemcell lobbyist. Prochoice advocates. GLBT groups. ETC.. They would running for the life boats. Or they may abadon ship at the first port. Can you imagine Every freeper on board getting left on a caribean island. It would be better than survivor! It would not take long for mayhem to ensue. I would imagine that they would go for the sick and weak first. Then they would turn on each other.
