I have a couple of questions about the NBC / Christiane Amanpour wiretaps.
Edited on Thu Jan-05-06 12:46 PM by stop the bleeding
1. Will NBC ever be able to publish the story?

2. When and if NBC publishes the story how will the administration try to weasel out of this one?

3. What does a "proven case" of wiretapping do for this scandal? - Really isn't this the magic "nut", all I have heard since spygate broke that it is kinda of hard to prove anything if people do not know that they were wiretapped, I believe ole Miss Amanpour and her husband's situation would throw this reasoning on it's head. So to ask again what does a "proven case" of wiretapping do for this scandal?

4. How many more famous people like Kerry and Rather will be able to find this out or how much more will learn on who was tapped and when?

5. When will there be public outrage?

6. Couldn't Christiane use her platform on TV to slam the WH on this??? - this would lead to question #5

So far the response have been very helpful, However I feel that this story will grow more and more legs and the questions listed above will have to be addressed either by the public, WH, media, or the vitctims.

Mark my words they will be answered

I have other questions on this, but these are the ones on the top of my list in lieu of the recent NBC revelations.

I will add in more later if they are appropriate.

1. The press were AWOL before and during the invasion of Iraq
Sure it's wrong, but I can't seem to work up concern for the media.

I'm not so sure CNN would give her a platform to slam the WH. She also does occasional segments for CBS on 60 Minutes, but CBS was burned with the AWOL story. I don't know if they would "go there." I honestly don't know which corporate owned/Government owned network would give her a platform...to be honest.

4. I've been wondering about Dan Rather.
If there is a possibility that Christiane Amanpour may have been spied upon, could it also be possible that Dan Rather was also when he was working on his TANG story?

6. The question is how will they get access to the information that they were
spyed on? NSA won't release anything because Bush claims it would let "terraists" know how they collect info.

Remember they OWN ALL THE SECRETS. NBC isn't going to get access and GE for sure isn't going to defy the Bushies by raising a stink.

Maybe Andrea Mitchell was doing a little bit of retaliation on her own. She's set. Her hubby is retiring and he's been very good to the Bushies propping and bubbling our economy after 9/11 so she may have honestly felt she could used her credibilty to leak this? Maybe she had a little integrity left from being one of the first females in journalism. Unlike whore Woodruff and Cokie Roberts...some of those first groundbreakers are "old school." She seems like a libertarian to me...and so is her hubby Greenspan. Bushie might have crossed the line with the libertarians.

7. I have little faith in NBC and Mrs. Greenspan
However, it is apparent there are whistleblowers out there and if enohgh of them step up, the media will not be able to ignore it.
