He seems to believe that the black community should form their own political party.
http://www.thenation.com/doc/20060227/mosleyI don't think I will listen to that part of the program. He has a perfect right to advocate as he wishes. However I guess in my simple mind I just figured that the pure arrogance of this administration during Katrina would stick in some minds.
I guess we women could have our own party as well, because our rights have diminished also. Except I know that if we did that, our rights would be lessened even more.
Trouble is, the Republicans would just laugh their heads off at both groups and go right ahead with their newly strong power taking away more rights of more people.
So he has a right to advocate for that party, I have a right to believe that his remarks about splintering off into even more groups can be harmful.
"If we took the vote into our own hands, we wouldn't have to ask the Democrats for their support--we could demand it. George W. Bush, or whoever takes his place, will send for our representatives to come to his home to discuss his plans. This is because they have not yet figured out how to dispose of the vote in the American political system.
Imagine it. We could actually democratize America by taking power away from the two-party system and handing it over to the people. Other special parties would arise splintering off from the centrist attendants of the rich once we show them the way."
That is just not sinking in. It does not make sense. Sounds like the Republicans will be getting much more power if this happens. A lot more power.
I don't think I will listen to that. And I doubt George Bush would be knocking on the door or sending people to listen as he thinks he will.
Maybe I am missing something, but this is going to hurt us all.
