So, what ever happened to the terror alert thing? Anyone else notice how it is all the sudden gone?

1. Well, it's an election year, so maybe they'll start using it again. |
|
Funny how they dug up that old terra plot in Los Angeles ("Liberty Tower") but didn't bother to dust off the chart.
If I didn't now any better, I'd think the Homeland Security department only uses the chart for political purposes.

5. it's because we're "safer" |

with bush*
a) could also be someone is paying attention at the white house - with the country against the Dubai ports deal and concern for security -- how much public support on the port deal would bush* get if he issues a terror alert?
2) we've been pummeled with terror alerts for the past 3 1/2 years - he's cried "wolf" once too many times for it to have any significant effect bumping up polling numbers. I would propose that a terror alert at this particular time would have the opposite effect and make his numbers drop even further
3) considering how well Homeland IN-security/Fema handled Katrina - if there were to be a "real" terror attack - how confident are you that Homeland IN-security/Fema could handle it?
a terror alert at this time would be a political liability - not an asset

7. FOX still runs it on their crawler, I think. |
|
not like I watch. But I think the only people in the world who believe the terror alert bs will be watching FOX anyways, so maybe DHS just "outsourced" the job to the network.
