......I'm convinced this administration purposely looked the other way while "the terrorists" were being paid by people in THIS country to do their dirty work. It would not surprise me in the least to find out Cheney was in to it up to his neck. 9/11 definitely could have been prevented, no questions about that.

9. A first step would have been to warn the airlines of the danger.

They reacted to the hijackings as they always have; naturally that proved deadly. How about paying attention to all of the chatter and the daily briefings? Paying attention to the warnings of the Clinton administrations about the danger of bin Laden might have been a first step. Having a meeting of the Cheney committee or giving the intelligence organizations more funds instead of cutting them also would have been a good plan. Etcs. too lengthy to enumerate.

10. If you consider the paymaster of Atta was meeting with the CIA

If you consider the fact that Pakistani general, Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Ahmad, the paymaster of Mohammed Atta, the man who sent $100,000 to Atta to enable him to pay for flight school training, flew to DC on 9/06 to meet with the CIA, Pentagon, State Dept. and National Security Council, and was having breakfast with Porter Goss, soon to be appointed head of the CIA, on 9/11 as the planes were flying into the buildings ... well it's kind of a moot question.

Could they? Why would they if they were making it happen?

It seems to me that if Zach gets the death penalty for being in jail at the time of 9/11 but knowing about the plot but not the details, then some heads should roll in this administration who probably knew much more than Zach about the 9/11 plot.
