Horowitz admonished by MSNBC host for "call(ing) guests names on the air" (mediamatters.org) Appearing on the March 5 edition of MSNBC News Live to discuss the suspension of Colorado high school teacher Jay Bennish, who linked President Bush and Adolf Hitler during an in-class lecture, host Contessa Brewer admonished right-wing activist David Horowitz for calling Citizens for Legitimate Government founder Michael Rectenwald -- appearing opposite Horowitz -- a "communist," "pro-terrorist," and "a menace." Brewer said: "All right. OK, here's what we're not going to do, is to call guests names on the air." From the March 5 editon of MSNBC News Live:
HOROWITZ:This teacher , in this 20-minute rant, also said that the victims of 9-11 deserved their fate. He's much in sympathy -- first of all, let me point out I explicitly said it would be just as wrong to have right-wing views inflicted in this way on high school students as these extremist left-wing views. Rectenwald -- Rectenwald believes that there's been a coup d'etat in the United States, we live under a dictatorship. His website calls for armed revolution --

Dear MSNBC,

I just saw a clip on MediaMatters.org where Contessa Brewer did not allow David Horowitz to call the other guest Michael Rectenwald names on the air.

I want to applaud her for conducting the program this way. David Horowitz almost always gets away with this kind of dishonest and uncivil discourse on TV and I really appreciate the respect for her viewers that Brewer demonstrated here. It shows she has limits to what people like Horowitz are allowed to subject her viewers to. Many hosts will allow Horowitz and others to sling all kinds of crap all over the viewers while the hosts just sit there and let it happen.

He would verbally abuse the employees on the air as he does now, but usually baqck then it was females. Then this Contessa came aboard and he started in with her. The other women were "in" on the joke, would TAKE it. Somehow, this one didn't get the memo. He harassed her, calling her a whatever. She said (on the air) she wasn't taking that CRAP (not a direct quote). Then she was gone off of the sl-IMUS circus, but was ON the MSrNC regular line-up. And later Timmeh (G.E.) RUSSERT scolded sl-IMUS about jerking-around the woman. I don't know how sl-IMUS survives on the air. Are there that many immature 20 yr old males who listen to the radio (and yet don't catch on to Shrub)?
