On the way to the above scenario, I'm not sure what I should be worried about more: Diebold Theft, Abortion\Gay Marriage Wars, or Code Red Terrorist Warnings... just to name a few. I think they are going to throw the political kitchen sink at us all.

So I ask, what will you expect from a newly minted Democratic Majority in any of the three houses?

They already have their next cycle in mind, as we will surely have to raise taxes, and make many other unpopular moves to correct the mess we are left in charge of, and we can all expect them to use those against us in future political cycles.

I, for one want accountability, as well as a MAJOR civics\history lesson in order to make sense to the less-informed to as what has happened, and what sacrifices it will take to correct them.

Some will counsel for a let-bygones-be-bygones approach, others will counsel an approach more attuned to a hang 'em from the tallest tree (metaphorically, of course) approach.

people are going to have to go to jail, nice people who wear suits and are used to ordering
the 5 star entree and travel 1st class. I want them to go to jail for election tampering,
for misappropriation of tax dollars, for bribery, for fraud, for extortion, for perjury,
for war crimes, for embezzlement, for reckless endangerment. I want this country to
be a nation of laws not of politics, winner take all, might makes right. I want us to
be responsible for every crippled Iraqi, I want little Iraqi kids to have their faces
rebuilt, I want our soldiers to have a new GI bill, housing and help with their medical
problems. I want every dollar stolen from us by war mongers and fradulent electronic
voting machine vendors sucked back into the treasury.

Many of you can piss and moan and demand all the blood you want, but if you impeach the Moran In Thief, you still have a whole succession of morans behind him to take over.

We have to take back the Senate just to block everything he and the House do until the election of 2008. We also need to have both the Senate and WhiteHouse and/or House to prevent another Scalito or Roberts from making the Supreme Court.

NOTHING will change until we have a President in place who can begin signing Executive orders setting in motion the necessary chain of events to begin to heal the damage these idiots and criminals have caused.

I cannot make it simpler than this. Every day is another WTF. Everyday I realize that some morning Manhattan Island will be the next New Orleans because of Global warming. Every day I realize we could be at the beginning of another Hundred Years War.

20. We won't be successful because of two things:

The corporate news media applying a handicap on Democrats and e-voting machines that run proprietary software that cannot be audited and cannot be analyzed for any flaws in the interest of protecting the profit margins of companies like Diebold.

The sooner you wake up to the fact that you are facing these twin dragons, the sooner you'll realize democracy died some years back and that you are essentially living in a soft one-party dictatorship of the extreme right comprised of the religious right allied with the business interests that dominate American society.

It's game over. It's been game over. How does one explain losing 2000, no real significant progress in the 2002 midterms, losing the 2004 elections? What, you think people will magically vote Democratic with Diebold election machines? What planet are you living on?

Actually, if I were running the election machines with the sole interests of maintaining long-term Republican domination, I'd probably give the Democrats either the upper or lower house of Congress in 2006. This way, I can insulate myself from charges of vote rigging because the other side actually won something, but when 2008 comes around, I'll whittle away at the Democratic majority again in the House or the Senate (whichever house I decided to give to them) until the Republicans are once again in control of both houses of Congress. Thinking about it some more, I'd give the Democrats the House. This way, if a new slot opens up on the Supreme Court, the Senate will be free to confirm a new rightwinger to the bench therefore making the situation 5-4 in favor of big business and conservative ideology.

People will look at it and assume people voted Democratic out of desperation and then voted Republican again to keep the trend going at a slower rate because they largely agree with the Republican philosophy of privatization and tax cuts and that the Democratic victory was a reaction to Bush, not necessarily to the merits of Republican philosophy with respect to social programs, etc.
