I would donate to the new Phoenix station if...

I knew I was getting something in return. The biggest problem I've had with AAR is lack of advertising. I live in Atlanta and see billboards for crappy little radio stations all over town. I have never once seen any kind of advertisement for Air Atlanta.

Why couldn't the Phoenix station make a contest out of it? How bout' letting the donaters vote on an idea for a new billboard? This billboard could be bought for around $5,000 and placed on a major Phoenix highway for one month. They could use it to announce the new station.

I need to know that AAR is trying. Just like the Democrat party, if I don't see a real effort to make a change, then it's going to be real hard for me to donate.

AAR's biggest enemy comes from within. Their management--good God, what are they thinking?

3. I've been to two AAR events here in Atlanta.

At both events they handed out bumper stickers.

The only one I've ever seen is on my car. I live in Decatur, where there should be plenty.

No billboards. You're right about other "crappy little radio stations" spending more on promotion.

4. Air America Radio--Word of Mouth is good enough for us!

yep, the local affiliate does jack shit to promote itself.

Whereas a crappy little reich-wing AM also-ran (920) manages to put up billboards proclaiming "liberals HATE us!"

And I still run into some metroLanta progressives who weren't even aware that Atlanta even had an Air America affiliate...

Having said all that, I noticed while driving through Cincinatti last year that WCKY had put up some billboards, albeit to promote local boy Jerry Springer, but hey you take what you can get.

5. Air America Phoenix

Had the advertising. They didn't own the station and the station was sold to a Christian Company. Most of the advertisers will continue to support the station when it comes back. I have seen billboards for Air America in sveral cities. Maybe not in Phoenix---but there really is tremendous community support for this station.
