How does he square this with ANYTHING OF THE SORT in the bible? Doesn't the bible pretty much presuppose slavery and makes no mention of self-governance of any kind. How where TF does he get that lame-assed idea?

On the Origins of the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind was a brilliant book. Years since I read it, and Bush is certainly no Homeric hero, but perhaps he has some remnant of the primitive mind that allows one chamber of the brain to believe that God is speaking to him.

his website said that he prayed and read a passage of the bible daily. His handlers all made sure this information was well known. Well, one time he was asked by a reporter what bible passage he read that day. He was stumped. He didn't come up with anything so he got mad and started saying something like: "This is just like that Acheson thing, you guys don't think I read it etc." Well, he was referring to when he was asked in one of the primary debates about what he was reading and he said a bio of Dean Acheson. So in the next debate, somebody asked him what he learned from the bio and he couldn't come up with a single thing about Acheson. So then John McCain was asked a question, he quickly answered and then went back to the question asked of Bush, and started talking about Dean Acheson and all of his accomplishments, lol. Bush was badly embarrassed, so when he got caught on his "reading the bible everyday" BS he flipped out and started acting like he got his candy stolen from him or something. :)

12. He and James Bath (I think)

supposedly studied a book of the Bible intensely for three months (I think) and when asked by a reporter what they discussed about the book, Bath (I think) couldn't remember a thing. I'm sure Bush wasn't asked about this, but the whole thing was probably just another attempt at creating the "Christian Man" image.

If anyone knows where to find this two or three year old story please let me know. I can't find it, though I remember reading it a few years ago.
