Question on SD Abortion Law and Reservations
I was wondering something the other night - do the Native American Tribes that have reservations in one state have to follow that state's laws? If not, what's to stop Planned Parenthood from relocating their South Dakota abortion clinic to one of the many large reservations in SD? Would they be able to perform abortions for women who were not in that particular tribe, or non-Native women?

Just an East-Coast Washichu (sp?) pondering some things.

1. The way that these * cabal neocon nuts work...
They will figure a way to strip the Indians of their reservation rights.

2. I was wondering exactly the same thing
Around here they manage to dodge not only antigambling laws but cigarette and gas taxes. There is probably no reason they can't dodge stupid antiabortion laws, too.

Of course, the problem of convincing the tribal elders that woemns' clinics are good business would exist.

3. I can't find any info. Name this law, The Rapist Protection Act 0f 1206.
They will not make an exception for rape. This is war against women.

Is SD a greater threat to the American people than Iraq, Iran and North Korea?

Yes, considering they are hiding the terrorist groups practicing usury and rape. HELL YES!

The degree to which DUers can rationalize their own misogyny astounds me sometimes. Restrictions on medical choices, those which only women are forced to endure dealing with? Nothin' offensive about that! But, wait, total restrictions? In ways that not even a part-time misogynist can justify? Oh, now I'm upset.

It's sad how little this site's members actually care about the human rights of women.

6. Ummm....
You are on DU, right, not FR? I would say that 99.99% of DU'ers are offended by the SD abortion ban.
