Just in case you have not been watching C-Span 2, The Harpers Magazine Forum on Impeachment that was held last week here is the main takeaway. It is now time to get your rep on the record as to how he or she feels about impeachment. If nothing else, the fact that Bush openly admits to 36 violations of the FISA Act is prima facie violation of law of such magnitude as to be an impeachable offense under the Constitution. The law is very clear on this point. So here is what you need to do. Contact your rep and ask them if based on this issue are they willing to support John Conyers resolution to create a select committee to investigate this and other potential violations that could lead to an impeachment of the President. We want a yea or nay answer. There are only two acceptable responses. Yes, they support the resolution and will sign on, or no they do not. If they do not support the resolution tell them that they are failing in their oversight responsiblities and in violation of their oath of office to uphold the constitution. Make them aware that this is a serious dereliction of duty. By their complicity with the Administration they must be held accountable and that you, your friends and family will do so come November. If enough people take this action, the message will get through. It is vital that those of you who have Repuke reps, especially in Blue States do this and do it now. They see the sinking poll numbers and know they are vulnerable. Strike while the iron is hot. By the way, if they attempt to blow you off with a non answer, make them give you a time frame in which the rep will have made a decision. He or she has to take a position on this matter. There is no hiding in the shadows.
On Edit: Please report to this post what responses you get so we can share it around and have further discussion. Thanks
