question re: abortion ban in SD and elsewhere....

Obviously the ban itself will be tied up in court for some time, likely years, but even if it is upheld by the SCOTUS, in essence overturning Roe v. Wade, would that decision be binding on sovereign reservations? I spoke with a paralegal friend of mine in SD about this last night, and her opinion was that technically it would not, i.e. that the Planned Parenthood clinic in Sioux Falls could simply be moved to someplace like Rosebud and continue operation openly and freely under tribal jurisdiction. If true, this could be the case in any state with sovereign first nations governments.

...for each specific tribe. What occasioned this conversation was an op-ed piece evidently penned by one of the local tribal leaders (or perhaps by a state legislator with tribal connections-- I don't know SD politics well enough) critical of the SD decision because the law would still allow women to travel out of state and receive abortions elsewhere, but that this option was effectively denied to those in poverty, a disproportionate number of whom were on the res.
