No, I never had an abortion, at least not in the typical way. I had both an ectopic and miscarriage at 5 weeks
I have heard all these bills calling for banning abortion from fertilization on. I have heard them calling for mandatory ultrasounds for woman seeking abortion in other states.
First, I did see my ultra sound of my ecoptic at 5 weeks. There was nothing to see of an embryo. It was just one big, bloody mess since my tube had burst. As one good "christian" doctor put, it took them a half an hour to find my bladder. Looking at those pictures, and I did look intently afterwords, I did not see any little head, little arms, legs, etc. NOTHING.
My miscarriage was also around 5 weeks. I really wasn't even sure I was pregnant. My period was only late by days. It was very heavy with a lot of cramping. Not to be gross here, guys, but there was nothing that unusual about it. Ask any woman who has had a late period, and they will tell you that is common. Again, you will not see any little head, legs, etc. The only reason I even know that it was one is that I went to my OB/GYN days after for regular checkup and he asked me if I had a late period that month. He said from examining me that it looked like I had an early miscarriage. Again, it is not uncommon. But that is why science defines pregnancy from implantation, not fertilization. Most very early pregnancies don't make it.
Just wanted to give a little insight into "early" pregnancies and what can happen, and what can be seen. Forget about fertilized eggs, nearly half "self destruct" NATURALLY and you will never, never know.
