Candidate says incumbent Republican not advocating biblical values enough

A Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate in Ohio wants to make homosexual behavior a capital crime punishable by the death penalty....

>>>>>

"Just like we have laws against murder, we have laws against stealing, we have laws against taking drugs – we should have laws against immoral conduct," Keiser told WTOL-TV in Toledo.

Keiser, 61, says he's running as a Democrat because that's how he was registered the last time he voted.

>>>>>

"I believe that the United States has been moved in a Godless direction by the courts," he told the Sandusky Register. "To get good men on the court, we need good senators."

>>>>>

Keiser told the Register the United States should make conversion to Christianity part of the war on terror to teach Muslims the error of their choice in religion.

I'm finding this hard to believe. This is not a Democrat obviously, yet he's running as one. Can the Democratic Party do anything about it? Can anyone run on a Democratic ticket? He is more rightwing than Tom Delay ~

2. He needs to win the primary to run as a Dem
and he will not do that. After that, he can try to get enough signatures to get on the ballot as an independent but since he's a former truck driver with no political history, I doubt he'll get very far with that.

Maybe there ought to be some sort of exam for prospective Senators & Presidents with basic civics & history questions.

1) United States has been moved in a Godless direction by
a) the courts
b) the founders

2) Which of the following is not a branch of government
a) Legislative

11. We need an Amendment to give mental tests before allowing someone
to run in an election. It should be a requirement along with residency, age, etc.

16. One of the great things about our system of government is
that anyone can run for office. So calls for the Democratic party to "do something about it" are pretty much undemocratic. And since anyone can run for office, anyone can get his ass handed to him by reasonable voters on primary day. And anyone can run again in the general election without the support of a major party.

I don't see why this is getting so much attention; fringe candidates run for office all the time.

I cannot imagine thinking such gawdawful, evil thoughts.... what in the hell does he care what people do in bed? Even animals--insects and reptiles too!--get to sleep with whomever they choose. What makes this idiot think he can judge others?
