Do you find this story the least bit inspirational?
This story is all over the local news:

http://pittsburghlive.com/x/tribune-review/trib/fayette/s_431001.html

Long story short, a 43-year old man from Fayette County PA had become extremely religious after suffering from brain tumors at the age of 19. After years of homelessness, he hikes up to a giant cross on the mountainside where he dies of exposure.

My fundy relative are all beside themselves about how inspirational this is. I'm just appalled at how little help an obviously disabled man got in his life.

1. sure....
They should all follow his example. Tell your relative to get on the ball, they are behind schedule. Have they given away all their stuff yet?

2. Sad
That people would find this inspirational.

I see it as an example of how people are tossed aside by society in today's America. We have to protect the fetus, so they can grow up to suffer at the hands of humanity, and die alone and scared on a hillside.

Sick.

6. It's bizarre the things fundies find "inspirational"
Just read "Guideposts" or "Readers Digests" to see how much fundies love the torment of humans. The worse someone's story is the more "inspired" a fundamentalist gets.

Abu Ghraib detainees could would probably take fundie wackos to new heights in their inspirational orgasmic ecstasy, with their stories. All they'd have to do is "come tah Jaysus" after their torture...

8. It might be inspirational if he climbed up to the giant cross
and DIDN'T die of exposure . . . right? What am I missing? This is why I'm making $7.50 apiece on a bunch of old bricks I dug out of my sidewalk that say "Pray" on them.

12. They're actually very nice relatives
They just have this little religious problem. One actually felt the need to call me last night just to explain how wonderful it was that this man had gotten so close to Jesus.

had to be the one to break this news to you...

Inspirational? They're delusional.
