Bobby Scott (D)
Just said this new school safety and security bill they're discussing would create a 10 year mandatory sentence for children who get in a schoolyard fistfight

19. Repugs are NOT saying that there are not some very good things in
this bill--just that judge protection has been tossed in and hate crimes provisions are OUT (when previously in the bill-now taken out by Chair).

22. Poison pill...
No hate crime legislation, convicted sex offenders can carry guns, judges can bear arms on the bench... What the hell? And, WHY? What was the point regarding this bill - what part did they hate so much about the bipartisan bill that it had to be slid in like this? Hurting the gun lobby...? Acknowledging hate crime...? They've gone mad.
