Website petition to get David Gregory fired and claims he was drunk on TV.

So begins the website FireDavidGregory.com, dedicated to--you guessed it--petitioning for Gregory's removal from the White House beat. So far, they claim 2317 signatories.

The website singles out two events that apparently justify Gregory's firing: Calling Scott McClellan a jerk and his giggle-fest on the Imus show. Both of these events, according to the website, "illustrate serious breaches in journalistic integrity."

Of course, most ironic is the fact that this website feels qualified to speak of "journalistic integrity" despite the fact that they claim, without any conclusive evidence, that Gregory was definitively drunk. (See the caption "Gregory Drunk On National TV")

but then again, journalistic integrity is a disqualification for any job-seeker at large corporate media outlets, so the question is mooted. By the time in a journalist's career that he could be invited to appear on Imus' festival of witless depravity, it's safe to say that integrity is a total stranger.

Where there are no standards for "integrity", and the prevailing idea of professional decorum is fellating a war-criminal and mass murderer before a world television audience, there really can be no disgraceful acts.
