A "private, Iraqi Security Company"...(?)
from Keith's coming attractions..

"Unidentified attackers hit the al-Rawafid Security Co. at 4:30 p.m. and forced the workers into seven vehicles, including several white SUV's, said Interior Ministry official Maj. Falah al-Mohammedawi. The company is located in Zayouna, a volatile mixed Sunni-Shiite neighborhood in eastern Baghdad"

My question; What kind of a "private, Iraqi, security company" would be allowed to operate in Bagdad these days?

4. Rafawid: Saudi Holding Co... wonder if it's the same co?
A contract of USD two billion has reportedly been signed between the Djibouti Government and Saudi company, Rawafid Holding for the constriction of a petrol refinery in Djibouti which will have a capacity of 100 000 tons and which could reach 400 000 tons. Project implementation time is three years.

They have one of our neighbors over there...can't say why, where, or when, but we know he's there.
Did the same thing in Afghan.

Can you please post the link that this came from.
I would like to read the full story.

8. Why would they call it an "Iraqi" security company?
I was thinking this Iraqi security company was in competition with Blackwater. Maybe that's why they were raided.

9. fwiw, they're listed in the UAE business directory:
26 Company Name : Al Rawafid Engineering & Contracting Company

Category: Construction Companies and Services,
Tel : 971 3 7825007Fax : 971 3 7825327 P.O.Box :1398

Email account : raawafid@emirates.net.ae Site : N/A

(I googled "al-Rawafid, security" )

(There's a mention of them in a UN report, as well, requesting some 2 million dollars for contracted services. UN recommended payment of ~ $235,000...)
