6. That was Deans line in every speech while he was a candidate!
Lots of Dems have used it, and I really don't care about THAT! I DO CARE when the Pubs steal it!

2. "We can do better ..."
What a pathetic little phrase.

Imagine you spend every penny you have on a custom-built home, and within weeks of moving in, the entire thing crumbles to the ground.

So you hire a contractor to re-build.

Would you hire someone who looks at the total devastation and says, "Well, my company can do BETTER"?

Do better? Considering the state of the nation, WHO COULD POSSIBLY DO ANY WORSE?

5. Actually that was RFK's catch phrase in '68 and I believe JFK
used it in '60--it's pretty all purpose.

7. Times have changed ...
... and an 'all purpose' catch-phrase doesn't cut it.

As an American, I don't want to hear ANYBODY tell me they can do better. As I've said, no one could possibly do worse than the current crop of idiots in office.

It sounds timid, mealy-mouthed, and lacks any sense of commitment to getting the country back on track.

8. I agree with you
but it was pretty mealy-mouthed back then too? How can you do better is the question.

10. JFK was not walking into the WH ...
... under the circumstances we presently face as a country.

I much preferred Edwards' "Help is on the way!" THAT'S what Americans want to hear right now, IMHO.

If your job has been outsourced, your medical coverage is gone, your savings are depleted, your credit cards are maxed-out - wouldn't you want to hear someone say, with conviction, that HELP IS ON THE WAY?

9. It always reminds me of the movie "The Candidate"
Robert Redford's character

"Jim McKay for A Better Way!"

"There's Got to be A Better Way."

4. Rogers is an ass... patronizing, the type of Repuke that believes
it's necessary to talk to adults as if he's schooling children.
