The world will be a much easier place

When we get cloning science to the point that men and women don't have to have someone else to reproduce.

2. That will be a great loss

People don't get along now-not because they are too close but because they are too distant. Taking away a reason for people to function together won't help things.

Also, look up the SCUM Manifesto for where that can lead.

3. I don't think the OP meant sex and in all actuality
sex would be so much more enjoyable without the risks of unwanted pregnancy, wouldn't it?

I think the OP means some sortof artificial womb. An incubator. Sounds WONDERFUL to me. Talk about NO MORE UNWANTED CHILDREN!!!!

4. Sorry, I don't follow you at all
How would this change an unwanted pregnancy? I agree that in some respects an artificial would would be an advance, but I didn't see that in the post at all.

And again, i have to go back to the SCUM Manifesto example. If we develop cloning to an extent that humanity no longer needs people to mate, we will be vulnerable to groups that have agendas involving getting rid of specific groups-men, women, minorities, nationalities, etc.

5. Wow, I have a hard time believing you read my post
One woman and one man (god I hate to sound like a RW bumper sticker) insert their reproductive tissue into an "artificial womb" both having signed off that they take responsibility that it is wanted, etc. That takes the burden out of it for any one person. Yes it could be abused, no.. it isn't like cloning. It is reproduction of two people.. without one of them having to commit their body to the project for nine months. That is all.

6. Maybe I'm missing something here
I haven't been around for the last few days, and I missed all the posts that everyone seems to be talking about as fighting, so maybe I'm missing the context, but this was the original post:

The world will be a much easier place
When we get cloning science to the point that men and women don't have to have someone else to reproduce.

Where is this talking about an artificial womb? You said it isn't like cloning, but the original post is about cloning.

If there's some contextual thing that was discussed in another thread that I missed, forgive me. but as you said, you think that the post means an artificial womb. I didn't see that anywhere in the post, and ther's not enough there to elaborate on. Was there some discussion in a thread today about artificial wombs or something like that?

7. just saying when people can do more things without having to
involve others, that will make things easier.

If you don't want another woman or man involved in the birth or the raising of your child you will not have to have one involved.
