16. What's so hard to understand

People resent celebrity for celebrities sake.
Unless you're actually offering something to the public through a talent, then it is widely considered that your celebrity is unjustified. A socialite is not an actor, or a musician, etc.
She is a media creation being forced down the public's throat. Shallow, vapid and without a hint of humanity. Aspiring to fame just for the sake of fame is a rather ugly thing. When it is without any substance it's even worse. And worse still when it teaches others to follow suit. Then of course there's the issues of numerous racist comments and treating people 'below' her like subhumans. In short, she's everything a progressive would be against. But if it has to be explained why Paris Hilton is loathed by so many people then I doubt any explanation would register anyway.

as far as I know, she's never really caused anyone any specific harm. I doubt she would either, since she probably doesn't care enough to.
When I think of all the terrible destruction Cheney has wrecked in his unnatural life, it makes Paris Hilton look like a saint.
Paris Hilton can keep her 15%, but Cheney should be about 5% in reality(about the percentage of people who have profited from his carnage).
