I don't think this lil movie will make it to the States. I'm watching it on Channel 4 right now. It makes me madder than hell. The things we have done to our fellow human beings on this planet is beyond horrendous.

BERLIN -- Four mates from the British Midlands embark on a wedding trip and side adventure in late September 2001 only to find themselves on "The Road to Guantanamo." This remarkable film by Michael Winterbottom and Mat Whitecross tracks the true story of these British citizens of Pakistani descent, using hundreds of hours of interviews so the story can come out, literally, in their own words.

The early sections are reminiscent of Winterbottom's astonishing "In This World" (2003), but the road picture soon turns into a war picture and then a prison picture as the men are incarcerated by U.S. forces convinced they are Taliban. (more)

4. Welcome to DU (a bit late to say that); I didn't know one had disappeared

in Afghanistan, presumed dead. I'm surprised the 3 are now level-headed - you might expect rage or traumatic stress problems after all that. And finishing with the wedding was good to see at the end of it - one bit of good news.

I have to say I felt such shame.........and I have never supported Bush, the war or anything he has ever touched. I just feel so ashamed at what my own damned country has done.
