1. The Bushbots still win no matter what. Halliburton, Carlyle...
they will be the shell companies for the UAE. And Congress will not do anything about it.

10. Bingo. You are right on. Doesn't matter what they are called.
Those who were supposed to get very rich will still get very rich.

3. Hmm ... maybe HELLIburton?
I think the Dems will definitely be looking into this (Schumer said as much today); the devil is in the details and they're going to be watching how this goes down.

Dems ultimately participated in xenophobia and corporatism.

I think they were tricked into it, but they took the bait and participated.
Whether it will be useful in keeping or winning seats is one question.

If we did "win" in that sense, the next question is how many more compromises will there be and will it truly end if they have a majority?

Some of us are left with questions about when are we going to be able to trust them to return to Democratic values.

There will be negative campaigns to avoid and corporate donors to keep in every election looming.
"Do WE still win when the Democrats win?" is a second question I would ask

One is xenophobic if they dont like Saudi Royals having the keys to the ports?

Your opinions are valid except for that one-no one dislikes the Saudi Royals simply because they are from somewhere else.

9. I think there is a forgotton piece
On the Democratic Agenda this year is a crackdown on illegal immigrants.
Combine the two, and the average citizens careless reading of headlines and you will see an increase in racism and disdain for Muslims and people of racial heritage who carry possible resemblance. It all gets lumped together psychologically in the minds of many constituents and voters.
The "white man's burden." that unites many people against other races.
Dem.s participated in taking advantage of politicizing on an emotion and suspicion that ignites easily after 9\11 with or without regard for those consequences.
Like I said, I think it may be bait that Dems fell for.

8. you have to ask?
Putting Halliburton's name on it would be too obvious and a real screw-up....but considering how well the bushies have handled things in the past few months - it wouldn't surprise me

however, assuming that someone in the white house is paying attention - I expect that either a tiny subsidary of Halliburton will get it, or Halliburton will buy the company after the "furor" dies down

Meanwhile Dubai says it won't sell it off at a loss - If not Halliburton then who? Start researching companies who have the money AND their connection to the bushies
