Edited on Thu Mar-09-06 06:24 PM by simonm
I'm looking into building a fax blaster for political campaigns. Does anyone here have any recommendations or tips?

1. don't
People really hate junk fax. If you faxed for the opponent, it might help... (no, don't do that either)

2. most faxes go to businesses
and businesses are supposed to be nonpolitical. All you are doing is causing them to spend money on your campaign. You want to reach people at home, but junk fax is NOT the way to do it.

Actually it would be a system where someone can fill out a form on the Internet and their message is faxed to those on the list. The recipients could be media contacts, senators, or other organizations.

One click faxing. :)

Moderation features built in can help with prank messages.

Edit: issue based faxing. Like Diebold problems faxed to all Elections Supervisors within a certain state.

3. I wouldn't reccomend it
We did it for about a year and really PO some folks. I'd say our "conversion" rate was about .5%.
