Guantanamo Bay will bring down Bush?!?

I just finished speaking to a friend who recently moved from the U.S. to the U.K. She said that every day and all day the news in the UK (at least in London) focuses on the abuses at Guantanamo Bay, and she felt that so much was being revealed and so much negative criticism was mounting over the treatment of prisoners there that it would eventually bring down BushCo.

I assured her that the MSM here was silent on Guantanamo Bay. I explained that what I knew came about what was going on at Guantanamo Bay from blogs and other Internet sources, news from other counties, and the like. She was appalled!

As we all know, there is a lot of real news out there that is very negative on Bush and his administration's tactics. If other countries, especially a country like the UK, can find and expose the truth, then what the hell are our news people doing (Don't need to answer. The question is rhetorical!)

The difference in news over here is night and day compared to the US News.........the American MSM isn't showing half of how bad it is.

Where are you in the UK? My friend says that it makes her really appreciate the US, but I think what gets her is the 17%+ VAT.

I'm in Wales........near Cardiff.

I don't mind the VAT.........at least when you see the price on something it's what you actually pay.....VAT included. No having to add up sales tax in your head.

Plus, it's only about 6.5 to 7% more than saes tax is in most states. However, my friend had been living in a state with no sales tax! So, I guess it was a shock.

So many innocent people arrested and held illegally while so many others know and yet what recourse is there against war mongering, absolutist INEPT!!! at anything except their own PRIVATE business deals, and not to mention Cheney's PRIVATE "Intelligence" apparatus, outside of the CIA and FBI and the NSA, in this private Energy Policy administration, that's contracting our BLOOD for Oil.
