George Washington's family motto is "The ends justify the means"
Exitus acta probat

When the hell are Americans going to wake up and realize that the so called "founding fathers" were a bunch of elitists trying to create their own aristocracy in the "New World" who had only their best interests at heart when they broke away from England?

1. Anyone who's read Howard Zinn knows this already
But not enough Americans have read Howard Zinn.

"People's History of the United States" is probably the best work on 'the other side' of US history as taught in grade school.

4. many of us were never owned by england to begin with
that's all well and good for you people on the atlantic shore asking england to take you back, not that they would, they know the score, you're just out to get on the national health insurance

since katrina, there has been a little folk movement of people in louisiana wearing shirts and bumper stickers asking france to take us back but, alas, so far chirac has not seized his groundswell of opportunity, hell, there was even an essay printed in the GOP owned local newspaper asking france to take us back!

and we have oil!

i guess our next step will be to try to hit up spain and after that there's nothing to be done but hitch up with texas and try to see if mexico will have us?

7. Hell, why not hit up Spain?
They've got plenty of oil - Olive oil. We could convert our entire economy to run on it.

3. Your point being...what?
The Constitution and the Bill of Rights, because they were conceived of by self-interested aristocrats, are invalid?

6. I think they should be rewritten. They were written for slave holders.

All of our laws were written for the slave holding landed gentry.

8. It must have escaped your attention that our laws HAVE been rewritten
Slavery was outlawed almost 150 years ago.
