Country Icons Faith Hill Tim McGraw BLAST Bush--Kick His Ass!!!
Edited on Fri Mar-10-06 03:51 AM by autorank
Well, I guess our urban cowboy president will have a little early morning agida when this hits his desk. What a “stunning rebuke” by the hottest act in country western since The Man in Black and June Carter. Enjoy Texas toast. You’ll be able to get it just down the road a piece, from the big ranch soon.

(:wtf: I'm up late,it was sitting there. But it's great stuff!)

Faith Hill, Tim McGraw Blast 'Humiliating' Katrina Cleanup
Country Stars Lash Out in Anger Over Conditions in Storm-Ravaged States

AOL-CBS News

March 8) - Faith Hill and Tim McGraw -- two stars who usually stay out of politics -- blasted the Hurricane Katrina cleanup effort, with Hill calling the slow progress in Louisiana and Mississippi "embarrassing" and "humiliating."

<snip>

"To me, there's a lot of politics being played and a lot of people trying to put people in bad positions in order to further their agendas," McGraw, a 38-year-old native of Delhi, La., told ABC News Radio.

"When you have people dying because they're poor and black or poor and white, or because of whatever they are -- if that's a number on a political scale -- then that is the most wrong thing. That erases everything that's great about our country."

<snip>

(Hill said) "I fear for our country if we can't handle our people a natural disaster. And I can't stand to see it. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out point A to point B. . . . And they can't even skip from point A to point B. "It's just screwed up."

4. You think they'll be smeared like the Dixie Chicks now?
Or was the Dixie Chicks guilty of attacking Bush when he still had poll numbers close to 50 percent?

22. That's just the retarded excuse dim-witted and uncreative Rethuglicans
used when we all know they just had their panties in a wad because some pretty white girls had the NERVE to criticize the Chimperor.

Welcome to DU. I wonder, how long will you be staying?

5. Faith Hill "uncharacteristically used an epithet"
"Bullshit!"

I love 'em. Future first-couple of Tennessee. I wonder if it will be first-lady or first-gentleman. ;)

9. agreed
I looked around for them when I went to a concert in Nashville a couple years ago. I actually thought I might run into them. It was a Rush concert and I had seen Tim on Larry King say he was a big Rush fan. Didn't happen, but I wouldn't have been surprised if it did. ;) I wish Tim would take on Lamar whenever Lamar's term is up. Maybe I'd consider moving up the road to Tennessee. :)

McGraw's a natural politician, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.

What a dream.

11. I think I bruised my chin.
:wow:
I'm shocked. I would have never pegged them as anti-Bush in any way. Shows my slight prejudice toward country music, heh? :shame:

12. a recent Esquire article...
Is about Tim McGraw. He's a Democrat all right. Him and Bill Clinton brag on each other. (Not that Clinton is that great really, but compared to the situation right now, he may as well be FDR.)

15. Wow, I honestly did not know that.
I used to be a big Loretta Lynn fans until I heard her on Larry King one night. I was so disgusted, I just closed my mind to country music. I really shouldn't have. I realize that. I mean even some rock'n'roll types are rw'ers. And who can forget the Dixie Chicks (country) giving Bush an earful about his stupidity. I just honestly never expected Tim McGraw was a dem. Wow. I am honestly shocked about that one. I can usually tell who is a dem and who is a repuke.

16. Loretta
Yeah I was shocked about Loretta Lynn. I always liked her music. Including the pro-birth-control anthem.

I guess I saw the same show that you did. Wow. That was a shocking moment. I transferred her share of love over to June Carter Cash. :hi:

17. As much as I love Tim & Faith
I don't think that the biggest thing since June & Cash really applies.

See Garth & Trisha.

18. Talent-wise...

Faith is OK, but Tim is a hack. I've never seen live footage of Tim where he was on key.

Garth & Trisha do have it going on.

Back to politics -- Go Tim & Faith!

20. You're right. Nobody tops Cash, nobody. I'll say 50 Hail Mary's and
refrain from that again.

:banghead::banghead::banghead:

I remember how Cash hit the seen with Folsum Prison Blues, it was a rocket that crossed over bigger than anything.

In some ways, I think that act and that record did as much to summarize the 60's as any thing released. The idea that Cash would GO TO A PRISON was mind blowing! Really walking the walk. The scene where he throws the filthy water glass in "Walk the Line" was the single most defiant political act I've seen. All men deserved to be treated with dignity, it screams.

I fully accept the correction.
