A question about liberal radio

I know from listening to Boston's Progressive Talk and The Voice out of New Haven that some progressive stations don't carry just Air America talk radio hosts, but also personalities from the Jones Radio Network. My question is this: how many other networks or groups out there are the distributors for progressive talk radio hosts? Is Jones all progressive talk or is it a mix? What can we, as listeners, do to support and bolster these networks?

1. In Pittsburgh, WPTT 1360 AM. is a mix with;

More liberal than not. They seem to be doing well with the format. It's all about selling soap and the way to make it work is to call in, E-mail, write and support the sponsors. Many sponsors on this station are local, and a trip to their place of business and a mention that you heard it on that station helps greatly. As networks are shown there is a market for liberal talk, it will happen. With over 60% of the country against Bush, you as a Station manager would think that the time is right for this type of format.

2. 1260AM out of DC follows the same schedule as New Haven....

I wasn't aware that we were an anomally in carrying Stephanie Miller and Ed Schultz. Are there progressive stations that are strict about carrying only AA personalities?

3. There are stations that are JUST AAR stations....

(like the NY flagship station)
Actually I'm delighted that they aren't the only kids on the block anymore. Now if we could just get the different progressive "kids" to play nice with each other and recognize the common enemy.

5. I agree

Ed sometimes gets mad at AAR, but he has the right idea about business. We must never forget that to make progressive radio work, we need to support the sponsors. My problem is that I can only listen online, and so I can't support local sponsors. I like the idea of emailing the stations, though-maybe if they realize they have a growing online listening base, they can attract more national advertisers.

4. Boston is the same as New Haven as well

I think it is funny when people call in to Stephanie or Ed and assume they are AAR. I wish that they would all "play nice" with one another-there is market share enough for more than one progressive network.
