1. they also said Bush said it was because of 'anti-Arab' sentiments. They
showed a clip from Bush this morning talking--so looks recent.

3. Has Bush asked himself who has been promoting the stereotype
Edited on Fri Mar-10-06 11:24 AM by Solly Mack
that Arab = terrorists?

Has he asked himself who has been promoting the fear mongering of all things Arab?

He has. So he can take full credit for anyone who hears "Arab" and thinks "terrorist"

Bush created his own backlash.

Yes, some people are against foreign control of ports, period - but some are, unfortunately, equating Arab with terrorist.

Well, if you play to people's fears and their prejudices (and prejudice is rooted in fear and ignorance) then you can bloody well accept responsibility for the fall out.

Bush screwed himself on this. His lies about Iraq and 911. His "war on terror" rhetoric. Maybe he should have gone after the UAE for their connections to terrorism and 911 instead of lying about Iraq and 911. Instead me made the UAE a "trusted ally" and illegally invaded Iraq and tortured and murdered her people.
