How do we stop Halliburton, or any Bushified Firm from taking over
OUR ports? People are beginning to speak as though it's a fait accompli, and I don't know about y'all..but I'm tired of giving away our money to Bush's cronies to the detriment of Seniors, Students, and SO many others.
What is the best way to say "no more"??
Is that even possible at this point?

4. You Never Thought About This Before?
What did you all think was going to happen if Dubai Ports World was dumped?

Mike Malloy has been right all along about this 'controversy'. It is a classic KKKarl Rove set-up.

Of course, Halliburton or Carlyle Group is going to get this deal.

And the radical Republicans can point to this and say: "See we oppose Bush when we have to for national security."

Set-up. Set-up. Set-up.

6. I did. However, never before has the opportunity been present
before the whole ports debacle to expose just how CORRUPT the whole Bush/Cheney/Halliburton/K&R/Carlyle inbreeding has been.
There is a lot of focus on this now..people ACTUALLY seem to be paying attention.

5. That weasel Norm Coleman
is chairman of the subcommittee on Investigations - I say we all email him to demand he use the committee to investigate Halliburton and the missing taxpayer money in Iraq. It probably won't do any good, but at least he'll know we're onto him.

7. Carlyle Grp setting up investment team to focus on US projects, i.e. ports
Edited on Fri Mar-10-06 01:26 PM by wordpix2
Fri Mar 10, 2006 1:38 PM GMT NEW YORK, March 10 (Reuters) - Carlyle Group, a private equity group, said on Friday it was setting up an infrastructure investment team focused on investing in projects in the United States.

The initial team of eight will be co-headed by Robert Dove, former executive vice president at Bechtel Enterprises, and Barry Gold, former managing director and co-head of the structured finance group at Citigroup/Salomon Smith Barney.

Carlyle said the team begins work next Monday and will look at investing in transportation and water facilities, airports, bridges, ports, stadiums and other public infrastructure.

"The proven use of public-private partnerships and concessions in the UK and on continental Europe is now emerging as a means of financing U.S. infrastructure," said Dove in statement.

Carlyle said its infrastructure team will invest mainly in U.S. infrastructure in deals ranging from $100 million to more than $1 billion. ...more...

8. Don't you think the NeoCons behind the furor were also planning
to take advantage of the fall-out --- watch for Carlyle, Bechtel, Halliburton, SAIC --the usual suspects to have already setup divisions working on how to make a windfall.
