I started watching volcanos on webcam during the process Popocatepytl went through about 5 years or so ago. My brother was about 12 miles from it and spent his evenings on the roof of the house watching the show so I shared it with him that way. Love volcano cams.

I have the St. Helens one, got it here from someone when it was steaming and really active one time. It is really cool to see since we traveled all up on it several years ago.

That Popocam is MUCH better than the one I had way back then. Then it was just a tiny little screen but it was still fun to watch and then email with my brother about what he had experienced each day that close to it. I am keeping this one for sure.

Seismicity associated with the growth of the dome remains at a high level. Small pyroclastic flows are visible on the northeast and east flanks in on-island web cam views today. Small amounts of ash are being produced by these flows. Steam emissions at the summit continue. There are no indications that activity is increasing to the point where a more hazardous eruption is expected.
