CNN headline: "Dems Indicted; Clinton, Kerry Targeted"
They're really on a roll today :grr:

This is a headline currently running on the Netscape section of the CNN website. And as you'll see, it runs the blazing and rather unexpected headline: "Dems Indicted; Clinton, Kerry Targeted."

Needless to say, no Democrats have been indicted. The headline is for an AP story in which RNC honcho Ken Mehlman 'indicts' the Democrats for having no message.

Who's the headline writer? Yet more of the long steady decline of CNN.

17. Mehlman needs Jeffy Gannon
He misses his trysts with Gannon and Rove. Which I don't have any issue with, except for the complete and total hypocrisy.

6. The only way they could get "Democrats" and "indicted" together
in a headline? Really pathetic repub tactic. LIke that will make the public forget abramoff, delay, et al.

Think this was on Netscape this am, and they took it down.

We should mail CNN and tell this this is partisan and pathetic.

are now divided into three camps...
Indicted, Unindicted Co-conspirators, and "Laying Low And Hoping My Name Doesn't Surface In An Investigation"

12. Welcome to the tabloid world, CNN.
You've now joined the National Enquirer, Star, the Wall St. Journal and all of the other lying sleazy rags. You should be ashamed of yourselves, pretending to be journalists, when you publish sh*t like this. You insult me. FU CNN.

16. I don't want to get my hopes up, but they really seem DESPERATE lately.
Stupid stunts like this headline are NOT
the actions of people who feel confident and secure.
They seem to finally be acting as if they are in real trouble.

I hope they are truly as worried as they seem!

20. Breaking! CNN indicted for prostitution
With all the rats leaving the sinking GOP ship, CNN realizes at last that there is no turning back. Having completely whored themselves beyond redemption, they have completely given up all pretense of professional journalism and are now overtly doing the bidding of their corporate sugar daddies.

23. Mehlman is shameless.
After saying that he didn't know Abramoff emails surface that prove that he was chummy with that rat. He still goes on Tv spouting BS. No shame. that should be the slogan for the RW. No shame.

24. I don't know what editor is writing the snippets on CNN
but just now I heard them describe the fact that Democrats are meeting at several places in the U.S. (while the Republicans are all in one place today) as "Democrats are all over the map" (i.e. disorganized).

Right after that, a CNN talking head was describing several Democrats running for office while the headline read "Democrats On The Run" (i.e. running scared).

These double-entendre ways of telling the news are loaded with subconscious messages that favor one side over another. This is no longer just news.

25. in 1994--Six weeks before the election.
Don't forget to repeat that. Six weeks before the election, is when the Gooper "Contract with America" was unveiled.

Funny, nobody was bitching about how they had "no message" in the months leading up to that stupid manifesto. Indeed, about all the Goopers running for Congress were doing was--remember?--bashing Clinton.

But no, we mustn't bash a suck-ass, incompetent, unpopular President ourselves! that wouldn't be sporting. Or something like that.
